From a young age, Mark has loved filmmaking. Enlisting the help of his high school friends, he transformed his parents’ basement into a production studio and has been creating ever since.
Mark’s love for film stems from his insatiable interest in storytelling. He strives to find new ways to engage an audience and create pieces that resonate. His work will energize, instill nostalgia and inspire. But, it’s hard to call it his work, because when you collaborate with Mark, it’s clear this isn’t his work, this is his play.

The best organizations—and leaders—use stories as a way to communicate and transfer the values and vision of the organization. They leverage the power of storytelling to acquire new customers, attract investors, or engage employees. As an entrepreneur or business leader, your story is your power.
Business and brand expert Kristen Heimerl discusses the power of storytelling and, in particular, how personal stories accomplish more influence and achieve greater impact than information alone.
Participants will briefly explore storytelling best practices. Then Kristen will guide participants in an interactive workshop to reveal their leadership narrative—with a focus on maximizing opportunities to connect with and inspire others. Finally, a few moments will be spent looking at how personal stories can be used to shape an organization’s narrative and value to make an unmistakable impact in the marketplace.
Key Benefits:
1. Identify your top stories: Discover the narratives that define you as a leader.
2. Hone your storytelling skills: Utilizing a proven model, explore ways of telling your story for greatest impact.
3. Construct your roadmap: Identify your audiences, their needs, and your solution. Align your leadership narrative with your organization’s big idea.
So, you're developing a product...now, is it any good? Ultimately the market will decide; but on Tuesday, September 20th you'll have a chance to beat the odds by vetting your concept, prototype or production model with a panel of product design experts at Worrell's headquarters in Northeast Minneapolis.
You will have three minutes to explain the product, use case, features and functionality, followed by five minutes of design feedback from Worrell’s industrial designers, user interface designers and engineers.
The sessions are designed to provide you with critical insights and honest feedback to help take your product to the next level.

The “Kick Cancer, Buy Jam” events have been created as celebrations of local food featuring your favorite farmers’ market producers, various jam bands, and Lucille’s Kitchen Garden jams and caramels. The intent from the sale of these products during four upcoming weekends is to help Amy Glass kick cancer by raising funds that will support the Glass family during this challenging time. As many of you know, Amy is an independent business owner and co-founder of Lucille’s Kitchen Garden with her spouse, Zoie.
Lucille's Kitchen Garden has been in business for nine years. Zoie and Amy have methodically built the company, starting from its Mill City Farmers' Market launch in 2007. For the past nine years they’ve steadily built a solid self-distributed, family-run wholesale business that this year expanded into regional distribution.
In addition to creating savory jams designed to be sold with cheese and cured meats, Zoie and Amy also co-founded Midwest Pantry, which is a member-driven organization of local food creators working to make Minnesota the #1 place to start and run a food business. Midwest Pantry offers an education series for start-up food entrepreneurs, networking events, and wholesale and retail sales opportunities, including the Local Food & Gift Trade Show. Amy has been intricately involved in the growth of Midwest Pantry, however, due to this recent diagnosis, her involvement is on hold.
After returning last May from a business trip to Boulder, CO with food community leaders, Amy and Zoie were stunned to receive news that Amy has an aggressive Stage 4 cancer that originated in her and has metastasized. She has completed five of six initial stage ‘killer’ chemo treatments and is no longer able to work.
To ensure that her family will retain its health insurance, Zoie is working to maintain Lucille's Kitchen Garden, aided by a fleet of generous volunteers, which includes support from the ecosystem of Midwest Pantry members. We thought you would also like to know how to lend support.
Our “Kick Cancer - Buy Jam” events will be held in September, October & November at the following markets. You can support the Glass family and our generous food creators by purchasing jam at the following locations:
The “Kick Cancer - Buy Jam” events will truly be celebrations of local food and featuring your favorite market producers, jam bands, and yes, Lucille’s Kitchen Garden jams and caramels. Thanks so much for your help in supporting our foremost champion, Amy Glass.
